Private boat trip from Split, with your own skipper.

Where the Blue Lagoon is

It is in Krknjaši Bay on the east side of Drvenik Veli, a small island near Trogir. Two islets shelter the bay, which keeps the water calm and shallow, with a sandy seabed and a white pebble beach (Visit Croatia).

A typical half day

  1. Leave Split and head west past Čiovo.
  2. Blue Lagoon. Anchor and swim. Bring a mask, the water is very clear.
  3. Šolta. A second swim stop in one of its bays.
  4. Back to Split for lunch, or stay out for a full day.

Which boat

This is the best trip for a RIB: short distances and calm water. A speedboat lets you add Trogir or more bays. A catamaran makes it a slow, lazy day.

Good to know

  • Tour boats arrive in the middle of the day in summer. Go early or late for a quieter lagoon.
  • Early June and mid-to-late September are calmer and less crowded.
  • With a private boat you pick the timing. That is the big win over the group tours.
